Business

Rakuten Award/Rakuten Weekly This award is given to the employee who has demonstrated excellence in the performance of one's duties and achieved superior business results as judged by the CEO and Executive Officers. The award is presented at the morning meeting (ASAKAI) with all employees present. Moreover, as an additional prize a dinner is held in the winners' honor with special guests such as the CEO and Executive Officers.
Additionally, we publish the names of those individuals that have had spectacular results, or continue to perform at a high level, in our weekly company online magazine.

Business Idea Contest In this contest, employees adopt the mindset of a business manager by developing a new business idea and presenting it to the CEO and Executive Directors.
This event occurs once a year and the best idea is turned into a new business. Through this contest Rakuten's Job Introduction Site and other services have been launched.
Community

Executive Officers' Camp Rakuten's managers from across the world gather together once a year to discuss global management strategy, human resources and organizational strategy. Additionally, training activities designed to cultivate shared values, unity, and team work are organized.

Birthday Party Event Typically, 200-300 people attend the party, where the CEO helps celebrate their birthday with a special toast.

Open Family Day Rakuten conducts a special event, "Open Family Day", so that families can visit the facilities of Rakuten Tower One and Two. This event helps families better understand their loved ones' work place and develop a stronger connection to Rakuten.
Staff members guide family members around the 14th floor boardroom, offices, and Rakuten University. Visitors can stand at the podium of the morning meeting (ASAKAI) space, and experience the excitement employees feel before making a speech in front of the entire company. Additionally, we hold a stamp collecting activity for children where they can collect special stamps for all our international locations.

Club Activities From a bicycle club to a Japanese culture club, there are over 25 active clubs at Rakuten. Regardless of your job or department assignment you can meet and be part of a community with members from across the entire Rakuten Group. Rakuten's strong unity is a natural by-product of these organizations.
